The Landscape surrounding your home can face many potential issues throughout the year. In many cases disease can realistically resemble insect damage. Typically Broadleaf weeds such as clover, henbit and chickweed will start to dye 14 days after the service date. Grassy weeds can take up to 25 days after the service date to die off. These are guidelines of course as temperature plays a big role in herbicides effectiveness. If for some reason your weeds have not died off 14 days from the service date, please call the office to reschedule a re-treatment.

Traditionally, we get the best results from in the fall months. This allows us to focus on root development during the winter months so we have a stable, healthy turf to “push” with our spring fertilizations. Hybrid Blue Grass Varieties are more tolerant to spring seeding however. This variety can be sown during the later spring months as to the seed preferring a slightly warmer soil temperature for maximum germination.

Remember, “More Thoroughly, Less Frequently”. It is better to irrigate the lawn twice weekly at longer intervals that watering every day in smaller intervals. The key is saturation. Most of the time mother nature gives us the moisture we need. However we cannot guarantee the weather. It is necessary to irrigate the lawn during the spring and summer months. It is recommended to irrigate in the early AM hours vs. the evening hours as to not promote disease.
